A kitchen remodel for the Playfair family in Portland. Painted cabinetry runs the perimeter around a stainless double wall oven column, and the island is built like furniture: cherry, standing on legs and feet rather than a boxed cabinet base, topped in stone and open to the living room. A matching cherry hutch with glass doors carries the same wood across the room. Globe pendants in clear glass and brass, undercabinet lighting, bamboo floors. We later built an ADU in Ridgefield for their daughter's family.
